Forestry Commission

The family that owns Savernake Forest signed a lease with the Forestry Commission in 1939, assigning to them the timber rights over the main bulk of Savernake Forest, and the trees of the Forest. All applications relating to the timber of the Forest should be made to the Forestry Commission, Postern Hill, Marlborough.

As well as being responsible for the upkeep of most of the Forest's private roads, the Forestry Commission operates a campsite and a car park, just south of Marlborough.
