Permissions

As Savernake Forest is private property, permission must be sought before arranging any organised activities in the Forest. Applications for permission for commercial film-making, the organisation of car rallies & treasure-hunts, military activities, outward-bound expeditions, and all such similar organised activities need to be made to both this Office and to our tenants the Forestry Commission (westengland@forestry.gsi.gov.uk).

Camping (including overnight stops in camper vehicles) is only permitted at the Forestry Commission campsite in the north-west corner of Savernake Forest, half a mile south of Marlborough on the A.346 (Marlborough to Salisbury) road. Please apply to the Forestry Commission directly for these activities on westengland@forestry.gsi.gov.uk.
